first_imgThe Kigali Convention Centre will open in June this year, just in time to host the 27th African Union Summit.The Executive Chairperson of Ultimate Concepts Limited (UCL) which owns this project, Eng. Didier Sugashya said the Centre is poised to be a service hub in the East African Community.Valued at more than $ 300 million, the Centre will comprise of a 5 star hotel, with 292 rooms, a conference hall that can host 2,500 people, several other meeting rooms to cater to MICE groups of different sizes and also an office park.Clarence Fernandes, Representative, Rwanda Development Board, remarked, “We are delighted to share with our industry partners here in India details of the state-of-the-art Radisson Blue Hotel and Convention Centre, Kigali.”“This new icon, in Rwanda’s safe, secure and spotlessly clean capital city of Kigali is only five km from the city centre and the International Airport. Apart from the Convention Centre, there will be an outdoor swimming pool, a variety of restaurants, frees high speed wireless internet, cosy cafes and bars and many more facilities,” Fernandes added.In conclusion, Fernandes has invited the travel trade, MICE and even wedding planners to visit the Rwanda pavilion at the forthcoming Outbound Travel Market 2016 which will take place at the Mumbai Exhibition Centre from February 18-20.
