The joint opposition has accused the Government of engaging in a witch hunt by arresting all those close to Rajapaksa. The joint opposition is to stage a protest walk from Kandy to Colombo later this week to protest against the Government and its policies.Kariyawasam said the Government will not be shaken by the protest and that it is determined to stay in power for years to come. The Government today denied claims it was taking political revenge on the opposition who supports former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam said that if the Government wanted to take political revenge it could have arrested 80 percent of former Government members accused of corruption within 100 days of the new Government taking office.
